If you’re using the Blogger provided themes, it’s tough. However, there are many create custom templates made at sites like ThemeForest.net that are specifically for Blogger.com websites. For some, you can’t even tell that they are Blogger blog. Some confuse them for WordPress. Using both, I am in the minority that I like BlogSpot. I’ve always had issues with security, hacking, and payments with WordPress. I never have to worry about my site being hacked or shut down due to traffic thanks to Google Servers. I always had those issues with WordPress, and frankly wasted more money doing so. Blogger is the best bang for your buck. In my case, it’s $0. I’m making full profit every year running my site.

I started with a simple template in blogger but from there I customized almost every part of the appearance of my blog. I used my own background image, my own header, and I even changed the fonts and colors of every aspect of my theme. I made some changes to the html and to the layout. I definitely agree that blogger is simpler than WordPress but it is not limited. I would recommend Blogger to to anyone who wants a free nice blog that is user friendly and simple to customize and make it your own.
