Hi Helena! You can connect a custom domain to your Tumblr blog but you will need to register it first through a domain registrar and then connect it to your blog. Take a look at popular domain registrars here: https://firstsiteguide.com/tools/domain/

And you can definitely monetize your blog on Tumblr. There are many different ways, such as Google Ads, affiliate programs, etc.
